First Day To Do List:
  • Print out and read a syllabus from the main course web site.
  • Log on to WebAssign. You do not need to purchase anything initially to log on. Complete the First Day of Class Assignment. Directions on how to log on can be found on the main course web site under "Web Homework".
  • Obtain materials for class, including a textbook, access code for WebAssign, graphing calculator, and possibly a binder and hole punch.
  • Read Section 1.1 in your textbook.
  • Print out the Solving Equations notes for Friday. You can find these on WebAssign under Resources.
  • Remember, items that you need to bring to EVERY lecture are lecture notes and a mindset prepared to learn. It may also be a good idea to purchase a three ring binder and a hole punch to keep track of your lecture notes.

Advice: Form good study skills from the start. Come to class. Read the text and do the homework. Do not fall behind. It is often hard to catch up in a math class after falling behind. If you are having trouble, then seek help without delay. Find classmates to study with. Go to office hours. Talk to me before or after class. Let me know if you are having problems or if you think that there is a problem with the course.
