The Department of Mathematics of the University of Kentucky is pleased to
host in Lexington a sectional meeting of the American Mathematical Society
during the weekend March 27-28, 2010.
The meeting will feature 26 special sessions (see list) and
four one-hour invited addresses delivered by the following
distinguished researchers
Percy A. Deift,
Courant Institute, New York University
Irina Mitrea,
Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Bruce Reznick,
University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Bernd Ulrich,
Purdue University
The sectional meeting of the AMS at the University of Kentucky has also been
chosen by the AMS as the venue for the Annual
Erdös Memorial Lecture of the AMS. The talk will be
delivered by
Doron Zeilberger,
Rutgers University
on Saturday, March 27, 2010, at 8:00pm in room CB 118. The talk will follow
a reception hosted by the Department of Mathematics at the King Alumni House
(6:15pm - 7:45pm).
In addition, the AMS meeting will be preceded by the Annual Meeting of the Kentucky Section of the MAA,
March 26-27, 2010, and the 2010
Hayden-Howard Lecture on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at
4:00pm. This lecture will be delivered by
David Eisenbud,
University of California at Berkeley.
