How to Succeed in Recitation

There are four things I want you to do:
  1. Show up to recitation.
  2. Do math during recitation. (This means don't sit there and textchat/snapface/groupbook people during recitation.)
  3. If you're stuck, ask someone for help. (Everyone will get stuck at some point.)
  4. If someone else is stuck, help them out. (Explaining math is one of the best ways to get better at learning math.)

Recitation Grading

Each day of recitation will be worth 5 points out of a total of approximately 75 points. (Note that recitation is worth 40 points in the final grade and so these 75 points will be scaled.)

These points will consist of you showing up to recitation, participating, and turning in some written work (this will probably mean a quiz most days).

Policy for Missed Recitations

If you miss recitation you will not get the points for that day, unless you have a legitimate excuse.

If you have a legitimate excuse, you are responsible for letting me know and scheduling any make-up work. Excused absences are granting according to University Senate Rule

You will need to give me documentation for the excuse within a week of returning to class, and will need to schedule any make-up work within a week of returning to class.
