Exams

 

There will be three midterm exams and a final exam. Each exam is worth 100 points.
You must bring a photo ID to each exam and you may use a scientific calculator on the exams.
Absolutely no cell phone use is allowed during exams.
The final exam, Exam 4, will be comprehensive.

Review sessions

Review sessions will be held on Monday September 18, October 16 and November 13
in room 213 of Kastle Hall (KAS 213) from 6 pm to 8 pm.
A review session before the Final Exam will be held on Monday December 11
in room CB 106 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

Exam rooms

Exams 1-3 are scheduled in Memorial Hall (MEH).
The final exam will take place from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, December 13, in MEH as well.

If you have three exams on the same day of your final exam or a concurrent exam you are entitled
to reschedule the final exam of the highest numbered course. If this is the case and MA 137 is the
highest numbered course, the makeup exam will take place in room CB 106 on
Tuesday, December 12, from 1 pm to 3 pm. Please let your instructor know in advance
whether you qualify to take the makeup exam.

Exam dates and material

Exam 1: 5:00-7:00 pm, September 19, 2017.
Covers Chapters 1 and 2.
Exam 2: 5:00-7:00 pm, October 17, 2017.
Covers Chapters 3 and 4.
Exam 3: 5:00-7:00 pm, November 14, 2017.
Covers Chapters 4 and 5.
Exam 4: 6:00-8:00 pm, December 13, 2017.
Comprehensive (covers all Chapters, including Chapter 6).

Alternate exams

Students who have university excused absences or who have university-scheduled class conflicts
with uniform examinations may take an Alternate Exam. You must fill out the Alternate Exam
Request Form and submit it to your instructor at least two weeks before the scheduled exam.

The Alternate Exams for Exams 1-3 are given on the same days as the regular exams in room 118 of the Classroom Building
(CB 118) from 7:30-10:00 pm (September 19, October 17, November 14).
The two and a half exam window is meant to allow for late arrivals due to late labs. The exam is two hours long.
