Second Announcement

The Celebration will occur on Friday-Saturday, September 24-25, 1999. Speakers will include: John Wermer, Brown University, Peter Jones, Yale Univerity, and Lars Inge Hedberg, Linköping University, Sweden. All talks will take place in the White Hall Classroom Building, Room 201 (CB 201) on the campus of the University of Kentucky, Lexington, Kentucky (please see the University's Campus Guide for directions). The festivities will begin at 1:00 PM; see schedule below. The talks on Friday will be of a general nature and are especially aimed at graduate students, but all participants are encouraged to attend. The talks on Saturday will discuss current research. Notice that on Saturday at 2:00 PM there is an "Open Problem" session. This session will be quite informal, and participants will be invited to present open problems. If you would like to present a problem in this open session, please indicate this to the organizers sometime well before Saturday's session.

Reservations must be made by August 24, 1999; you must mention that you are attending the Wildcat Math Celebration to get this rate! 

Note: Sept. 25 is a Football Weekend, and hotel rooms are generally at a premimum then, so if you are interested in attending this Celebration, you should get your reservations in early!
