General Information

Welcome to the Math Resource Center. The center is a computing and mathematics learning center of the Mathematics Department at the University of Kentucky. The center is located in CB 63, which is close to the loading dock in the basement of White Hall Classroom Building. The Math Resource Center is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday through Friday. Faculty, Graduate Students, and Undergraduate Assistants for 100 level courses hold office hours in the Mathskeller. In addition, peer tutoring for a variety of math courses is available at The Study in two locations: the third floor of the Commons in the South Campus Residence Complex and the first floor of Jewell Hall (the residence hall across from the construction for the new student center) on north campus from 2:00PM until 10:00 PM Monday through Thursday.

Mathematics Learning Center

The Math Resource Center (Mathskeller) offers a very comfortable learning environment. The center is specifically designed for students studying mathematics at the University of Kentucky. This substantial space includes a conference room, a private study room, two large study areas, and a kitchen equipped with sink, coffee-maker, refrigerator, and microwave. The center also has desktop computers, wireless Internet access, and printers. Printing materials related to Mathematics is free. The Mathskeller can accommodate a variety of activities, such as seminars, group study, tutoring and discussions. Faculty, graduate students, and undergraduate Math Majors are available to help all students who are currently enrolled in a UK mathematics course, not just students in their courses. Students may ask any faculty member, graduate student, or undergraduate assistant for help. The schedule is available below. No appointment is necessary.

Regulation Governing Use of the Math Resource Center

While math courses are held in Mathskeller, the center is closed for all students not enrolled in courses.

Printing materials related to Mathematics is free. Printing materials unrelated to math is prohibited. The Math Resource Center does not hire private tutors. Food and (nonalcoholic) beverages are allowed. Coffee is offered for 25 cents per cup. You are welcome to make coffee provided you follow the instructions next to the coffee maker. You may bring your lunch and keep it in the refrigerator. According to the University of Kentucky policy, the Center is a smoke free environment.
