Purpose of the Course: To introduce those attending to the algebraic topology of manifolds using both the DeRham complex (differential forms) and its cohomology and also singular cohomology. The DeRham Theorem that the two are the same is the focal point of the course. There will be sampling of the interconnection between geometry, topology, and analysis (Laplace operator), some in detail and some more expository. |
