Heuristics of problem solving. Practice in solving problems from algebra, number theory, geometry, calculus, combinatorics and other areas.

Primarily for middle and secondary future  school teachers.

This course is designed to deepen the content understanding of mathematics that is needed for teaching elementary or middle school mathematics.

Algebraic reasoning, introduction to statistics and probability, geometry, and measurement.

Text Box: This course is designed to deepen the content understanding of mathematics that is needed for teaching elementary or middle school mathematics. 
Sets, numbers and operations, problem solving and number theory. Recommended only for majors in elementary and middle school education.

The course will discuss the basic ideas of manifold theory, including manifolds, tensors, differential forms, introductory Riemannian geometry, Lie Groups, and Laplace operators on manifolds.  The DeRham cohomology will be thoroughly covered.
