Why are we here? 

What is the point of this course? 

 

Answer: 

So that you will be able to help your students with their conceptual understanding of the content of mathematics.  When a student asks a question or comes up with a procedure, is it correct (and if so, why), is it incorrect (and if so, why) and how can you help the student to deepen his or her understanding?
