Purpose of the Course:

· MA 310 uses the vehicle of problems solving to enable you to better understand the mathematical knowledge needed for teaching, especially in the middle grades. As such, the course studies problem solving in the context of numbers, algebra and geometry. 

· In addition, the students will see that the ability to solve problems requires both a variety of mathematical techniques and a foundation on which to base your approaches.
