Purpose of the Course: To introduce those attending to a sampling of the relationship between geometry, topology, and analysis, together with both local (at the beginning) and mostly global (for the last 5 weeks) ideas. Concepts covered will show that each of these three areas can be used to do interesting things on differentiable manifolds which have a geometric structure such as covariant differentiation or a Riemannian metric. |
