Wednesday, November 1, 6:30 PM at Pies and Pints: Dinner and discussion with Dr. Sally Ellingson
Dr. Sally Ellingson is a computational scientist working at the intersection of computational biology and high-performance computing. She engages in mentoring and outreach, especially for underrepresented groups in computational sciences. The discussion during dinner will focus on underrepresented groups in mathematics.
Monday, October 23, 5pm-6pm in POT 745: Ask-A-Grad Student
Our distinguished "Ask a Grad Student" panel will consist of experienced graduate students Jared Antrobus, Kyle Helfrich, Aida Maraj, and Julie Vega. This is your opportunity to come ask questions about the UK math program and learning to be a mathematician in general. Questions could range from how to balance being a student and a teacher, how to study for prelims, how to find an advisor, what you should do next summer, etc.
This event will be catered by Bourbon and Toulouse.
