Olinda, Brazil
August 3 - August 14, 2009
Practical Information
Reaching Olinda:
International participants will (in general) fly into the newly constructed
international airport (Guararapes airport -- IATA air code: REC) of Recife.
From there Olinda can be easily reached by taxi. You can withdraw 'reals'
(present-day currency of Brazil) from the ATM machines located in the
arrival section of the airport.
Airline ticket from the US:
In addition to consulting the usual internet sites (Travelocity, Orbitz, Kayak,
etc.), the following travel agencies specialize in trips to Brazil:
-
Bacc;
-
Brol;
-
Discoverbrazil;
-
Discover Brazil Tours;
-
Globotur.
Visa:
Please check the
Visa
Requirements by Country website to see if you need a visa to visit Brazil.
Note that this list may change, and without notice of course. So the
only sure way of finding out if you need a visa or not is by calling the
Brazilian Consulate in your area. Most Europeans and Latin Americans do
not need a visa to visit Brazil. Those traveling with a US passport will
need a visa.
A list of the Brazilian Consulates in the US and their respective
jurisdictions can be found at
List
of Consulates in the US.
A list of Brazilian Consulates in the world can be found in
List of
Consulates in the World.
Vaccinations:
If you have health concerns, you can find current information and learn
about the Brazilian Government requirements at the following
website (and
here as well).
