Shuttle Schedule (from the Recife Airport to Olinda)

You will be met by somebody holding the conference poster after you exit the baggage claim area. The driver has your name and flight information. The exact time of departure of the van will depend on the actual arrival times of the flights in question. The shuttle service is profided by UFPE (Universidade Federal de Pernambuco) and is free of charge to you.

If your name does not appear on the list of participants to be picked up by the shuttle service you will want to take a taxi to Olinda. When you exit from the baggage claim area you will find a line of airport taxis. They have a meter and are safe to use. You are going to Olinda, Centro Historico. The driver will know the hotels and inns of Olinda. However, if you are staying in the convent you may want to mention the area of town (Alto da Se).

Outside the baggage claim area you will also find several ATM's. Using an ATM is usually the easiest and most economical way to draw cash in a foreign currency. Sometimes though the machines have not accepted foreign credit cards; so it is advisable to carry some cash in your currency with you. It will be much harder to exchange money once you have left the airport. The hotels in Olinda provide safes where you can deposit documents and valuables.
