•  Textbook: Abstract Algebra by Dummit and Foote.
  
•  Syllabus: I hope  to cover part I: chapters 7-14 (with some omissions) and at least some chapters from part V.
  
•  Structure of the course:I expect to lecture twice a week with one day saved mostly for discussions. Regular homework will be assigned and collected on Fridays. Homework assignments will typically be posted on the web pages or given in class.
  
• Exams: There will be two exams, one midterm and a final.
  
• Grades: Total grade will be based on the two exams and the class work - with equal weight.
  
•  Note: Make every effort to come talk to me, to get things clarified. For mathematics, I am always available!
