Our Math Department
We play many roles in the department. We are students, teachers, researchers, colleagues, advocates, and friends. The department therefore provides resources to us for in each of these capacities.
College of Arts & Sciences
From professional development and networking to diversity and inclusion, the college administrators make an effort to connect us with the resources we need.
What is GSC?
We are the voice of the graduate students in the mathematics department and are here to serve. The Graduate Student Council is designed to be a liaison between the graduate students and the faculty/staff on both departmental and social issues. We also coordinate with other student organizations like Graduate Student Council for other departments, Graduate Student Colloquium, AWM, SIAM, and SACNAS to connect graduate students and show support for their events and missions.
For more information about the role of GSC and its officers, here is a link to our constitution. We are currently proposing amendments to the constituion for review by the department.
Don't forget to add Master's exams, qualifying exams, and dissertation defenses to the Math Department calendar by adding the event to your personal Google calendar and inviting firstname.lastname@example.org to the event. Be sure to include your name, the event type, location, and time plus Zoom link as necessary in the event information.
